The Charity’s assets are two pieces of land, Sheringham Common and Upper Sheringham Common, and financial investments. The rental income from the land and dividends from the investments gives the Trust an income with which to make grant awards as set out in the Constitution.

Grant Applications

Grant awards are made, upon application, to people in need who are resident in Sheringham and Upper Sheringham. A few years ago Trustees were keen to expand the work of the Charity and decided to also help Schools and Community groups in both Parishes.

Individuals who apply for a grant are usually required to be in financial need. Typically grants are awarded for household repairs, household equipment and equipment to aid mobility. When an application is received from an organisation the Trustees will give consideration to ensuring that those in need will benefit.

Also cash grants are awarded at Christmas, to those in financial need, living in Sheringham and Upper Sheringham. The current amount paid for a Christmas grant is £100.

The Trustees meet quarterly to discuss the management of their assets and decide on grant applications.
